JoAnn has served as Warrick County Chief Deputy Prosecutor since 2004. Originally from Long Island, New York, JoAnn received her degree in Political Science in 1975 from Northeastern University, Boston and her law degree in 1978 from Indiana University School of Law, Bloomington. In 1978 she began her career as a trial lawyer in Warrick County. Beginning in 1999 she also served as a part time Deputy Prosecutor for Warrick County. In 2004 JoAnn closed her private practice upon her appointment to serve as Chief Deputy Prosecutor of Warrick County. We have two grown sons who are married and have given us four grandsons. Since joining the Sheriff’s Office, I have worked Motor Patrol, Criminal Investigations including Narcotics, was promoted to Sergeant of Investigations and became the first officer in Warrick County to complete the Integrated Crime Scene Investigators Course at the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. As a volunteer for Newburgh for the last 25+ years, I have been active in Civic Groups, Charitable Organizations, Community Projects, Appointed Government Commissions, Historic Preservation efforts, and Business Coalitions. I have even chaired or presided over many. Currently I serve on the Newburgh Board of Zoning Appeals which is an appointed but volunteer position for the town as well as being president of the Newburgh Area Business Association. I have enjoyed every moment of my volunteerism but would like now a chance to truly represent all of my Newburgh neighbors as your elected voice.
